Well another buying trip under our belts, I so love going to the Ohio show to see our friends  (who are all in the same business as us.) it's like going home. We started off our trip in Windsor Ontario, stopped in to see an old friends did some catching up and some laughs of days gone bye. Monday we crossed the border and headed to Michigan to pick up 2 great gliders and a Slider Al found on the internet.                           The orange rusty colour is what there called a Slider, I just love                                                                 the colour.                         This Glider is in great shape, needs a little love a good cleaning and                                                                 needs new chains. Add This Glider is the one I like the best I just love rusty stuff. caption

Grain Scoops

I got in 2 sizes of galvanized grain scoops.                                          Great for candles or greenery in the kitchen or porch                                                          I'm going to have to keep a few.

New Stock

I got those enamel soap dishes today in the store.                                                            I think there are adorable.               I have had a few people ask about them today, I don't think there will last long I'm sure I will                have to re-order very soon. In this business you always have to find that something                 different. The new season will start soon and I'm sure fast.
Hi All What I learned my first year in business  is that I don't need Vendor in my store, I really think that's what hurt my sales. When you have Vendor's you can't control what there were bring in or when there change it or some would not give discounts.. That's what I was finding and it was to me a really problem. So the second year when we did it alone we only get better and our customers were glad the other vendors left because there did not have what there were looking for. You live and learn is the retail game.
Hi All Here's now I started this path I'm on and maybe you will get to know more about me.  From the day we got married Al and I started collecting vintage, salvage and antiques we got the bug for sure. I worked in Toronto Canada and Al worked (where we live now) up north getting our Landscaping business up and running and I worked in retail. We did this for many year until our son finished High school and then we purchased our farm. At that point I started to work with Al at the Landscaping business one of our customers owned an Antique Barn with multi vendors and she asked me to work for her, which I did for 16 years. The owners sold the business and the new owners take over, which I worked for 2 years and hated it and how the barn was changing and not for the better. So we build the barn on the farm and started our own business, and that was 5 year ago. We buy 90% of our stock in the United States and we so enjoy the hunt. We have met so many great people along
Happy Monday Back from Mexico, going to be doing some big changes in the store starting this week will keep you posted.
